Okay, this week is not normal. I have been covering OTT releases this week for a while now, and I can tell you — April 17 alone has more good content dropping than some entire months. Four major releases on the same day across different platforms. If you had any plans for the weekend, cancel them now.
Here is everything releasing this week across Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, JioHotstar, and ZEE5 — and more importantly, what is actually worth your time.

Netflix This Week
Toaster — April 17 (Dark Comedy)
This is my personal pick of the week, and I will tell you why. Rajkummar Rao plays a man who becomes dangerously obsessed with a toaster. That sentence alone should tell you everything about the kind of film this is — weird, sharp, and completely unpredictable. He and Sanya Malhotra were brilliant together in Badhaai Do, and this sounds even more unhinged in the best possible way. Dark comedies like this are rare in Bollywood. Watch it Thursday night, and you will thank yourself.
Ustaad Bhagat Singh — April 16 (Action Drama)
Pawan Kalyan fans have been waiting for this one for months. Ustaad Bhagat Singh hits Netflix on Wednesday, and it is available in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam — so there really is no excuse not to watch it no matter where you are. If you love the kind of mass entertainer that makes you want to stand up and cheer, this is your film for the week.
Do Deewane Seher Mein — April 17 (Romantic Drama)
Siddhant Chaturvedi and Mrunal Thakur play two people who feel completely out of place in a fast, noisy modern city — and then find each other. This one had a theatrical run earlier this year and audiences genuinely loved it. It is not the kind of romantic film that shouts at you. It is quiet, real, and the kind of movie that stays with you the next morning. Perfect Thursday evening watch with someone you like.
BEEF Season 2 — April 17 (Drama / Dark Comedy)
BEEF Season 1 was one of those rare shows that everyone was talking about at the same time — the kind of cultural moment that does not happen often. Season 2 has new characters and a new set of conflicts, but the same DNA — everyday frustrations that spiral into something much bigger and darker. If you have not seen Season 1 yet, watch it this week before Season 2 drops on Thursday. You will not regret it.
Amazon Prime Video This Week
Matka King — April 17 (Crime Drama)
This is the most anticipated Indian web series of the week, and honestly, it might be one of the best things to come out this entire month. Vijay Varma plays an ordinary cotton trader in 1960s Mumbai who slowly climbs to the top of the underground gambling world. Directed by Nagraj Manjule — who directed the incredible Fandry — with Kritika Kamra, Sai Tamhankar, and Gulshan Grover in the cast. The setting, the story, the lead actor, the director — every single element is right. This is the one you block the whole weekend for.
JioHotstar This Week
Euphoria Season 3 — April 15 (Drama)
Five years after the characters graduated, Euphoria is back. Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi — the whole cast returns for what early reviews are calling the darkest season yet. If you watched Seasons 1 and 2, you already know what Tuesday night looks like. If you have never seen Euphoria — it is intense, beautifully shot, and not for everyone, but if it is for you, you will be completely hooked.
ZEE5 This Week
Assi — April 17 (Courtroom Thriller)
Taapsee Pannu and Anubhav Sinha together are always a serious combination — these are the people who made Thappad and Article 15. Assi is a courtroom drama built around a legal investigation with a strong social backbone. The ensemble cast includes Naseeruddin Shah, Kumud Mishra, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub. This is the kind of film that makes you think after it ends. If you appreciate cinema that has something real to say — do not miss this one.
So, What Should You Watch First?
Honestly, start with Matka King on Saturday morning with your chai and just let it run. Watch Toaster on Thursday night when you need something funny and weird. If you are watching with family, Do Deewane Seher Mein is a safe, beautiful pick for the evening.
And if you are a Taapsee Pannu fan — Assi on ZEE5 is not optional. Watch it.
