Let me be honest with you upfront.
There is a lot of nonsense floating around about Mirzapur Season 4 release date right now. Random dates being thrown around, fake screenshots, “sources” nobody can verify. I have seen at least three different “confirmed release dates” in the last month alone — all of them wrong.
So this is what I am going to do. I am going to tell you only what is actually confirmed, what is genuinely likely, and one piece of news about this show that most people have not picked up on yet. No made-up dates, no clickbait.
Let’s get into it.
FIRST — IS MIRZAPUR SEASON 4 ACTUALLY HAPPENING?
Yes. Hundred percent.
Amazon Prime Video confirmed Season 4 after Season 3 became the most-watched Indian series in the platform’s history. It was not just big in India — it cracked the Top 10 on Prime Video in several other countries too. A show that does those numbers does not get cancelled. Season 4 was never really in doubt. The only question was when.
SO WHEN IS IT RELEASING?
This is where I have to be straight with you — nobody actually knows the exact date right now.
Prime Video has not made an official announcement. What we have is a general window. Multiple industry sources who track Prime Video’s India slate are pointing to the second half of 2026. Some are saying late 2026. None of them has a specific date.
I know that is not what you wanted to read. But I would rather tell you that than make up a date and waste your time.
What I can tell you is this — when Prime Video drops the announcement, it is going to be a massive event. This show has a fanbase that is borderline obsessive, and the platform knows it. They will not quietly drop a date on a random Tuesday. There will be a trailer, a social media campaign, and the works.
The moment it is official, we will update this page. Bookmark it.
WHO IS COMING BACK?
This is the part most people actually care about. So let me go through it.
Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit — coming back, confirmed. Guddu ended Season 3 sitting on top of Mirzapur. The throne is his. For now.
Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya — expected back, and this is the big one. His return at the end of Season 3 was the kind of scene that made you immediately rewind and watch it again just to make sure you saw what you thought you saw. If Kaleen Bhaiya is back in full form for Season 4 — and everything suggests he is — this season is going to be something else entirely.
Shweta Tripathi Sharma as Golu — expected back. Her arc across three seasons has been genuinely one of the finest character journeys in Indian web series history.
Rasika Dugal as Beena Tripathi — expected back. Beena’s story has been quietly devastating throughout the show and there is clearly more to tell.
Vijay Varma as Shatrughan Tyagi — expected to return. After what he did in Matka King this month, the excitement around his Mirzapur return has gone up several notches.
Isha Talwar as Madhuri Yadav — expected back.
New additions? Nothing confirmed yet. But Mirzapur has a history of introducing characters who immediately feel essential — so expect some new faces.
WHAT IS SEASON 4 GOING TO BE ABOUT?
Season 3 left us with Guddu on the throne. That sounds like a victory — and it is. But anyone who has watched this show knows that the throne in Mirzapur is the most dangerous place to be. People who want it outnumber the people who have it. And Kaleen Bhaiya being back means Guddu’s grip on power, however strong it looks, has a very serious challenge coming.
The politics of Mirzapur have never been more complicated. There are old grudges, new rivals, and alliances that could flip without warning. Season 4 is expected to be the most intense chapter yet — and given what Seasons 1 through 3 looked like, that is saying quite a lot.
Ali Fazal mentioned in an interview that Season 4 has a surprise for fans that nobody is expecting. He would not say what it is. He seemed almost giddy about it, which is either a great sign or a very worrying one, depending on how much you love your favourite characters.
THE NEWS MOST PEOPLE HAVE MISSED
Here is the thing that most Mirzapur fans do not know yet.
A standalone Mirzapur film has reportedly been greenlit. Not a Season 5, not a spinoff series — an actual theatrical film set in the Mirzapur universe. Details are genuinely scarce right now, and nothing has been officially confirmed by Prime Video or Excel Entertainment. But the people reporting this are not random blogs — they are industry journalists who closely track Bollywood production.
If this is real, it changes what we thought we knew about how the franchise ends. Season 4 might not need to wrap everything up in one go if there is a film planned. That could actually be good news for the quality of the storytelling.
IS THIS THE LAST SEASON?
Ali Fazal has hinted — more than once, in multiple interviews — that Season 4 could be the final season of Mirzapur. He has not said it outright. He talks about it the way you talk about something you know is ending, but you are not quite ready to say goodbye to.
The creators have apparently thought hard about how to end this story in a way that feels earned. Ali Fazal said they want to do something “distinctive and memorable” — which could mean anything from a shocking character death to a completely unexpected ending that nobody saw coming.
If Season 4 is the end — and it might be — then it also has to carry all of that weight. The weight of eight years, four seasons, and a fanbase that has genuinely fallen in love with this world and these characters.
No pressure.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO WHILE YOU WAIT?
Honestly? Rewatch.
Go back to Season 1 with everything you now know about where these characters end up. The early scenes between Guddu and Bablu hit completely differently once you know what is coming. Kaleen Bhaiya in Season 1 is fascinating to watch when you know the full shape of his story. Beena’s quiet suffering in the background of early scenes lands with a weight it did not have the first time.
