Okay, so I know I say this every week, but this week is genuinely different.
OTT releases this week, May 5-11, 2026, have Citadel Season 2 dropping all seven episodes at once on Wednesday. Spider-Noir on Thursday. The Boys hitting its midpoint. A Korean space romance on Sunday. And a ZEE5 action drama that people who caught it in theatres are calling one of the better films of the year.
I have been doing this weekly guide for a while now, and I genuinely cannot remember a week this packed with things I actually want to watch. Let me break it all down.
WHAT IS RELEASING THIS WEEK
Citadel Season 2 — Prime Video — May 6
Spider-Noir — Prime Video — May 8
The Boys Season 5 Episode 5 — Prime Video — May 7
When the Stars Gossip — Netflix — May 11
Dacoit — ZEE5 — May 8
Untamed — Netflix — Streaming Now
CITADEL SEASON 2 — PRIME VIDEO — MAY 6
Right. Let’s start with the big one.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden are back. Three years after Season 1 — which, let’s be honest, had a rough time with critics but a lot of people quietly enjoyed anyway — Citadel returns with Season 2. And this time Prime Video is dropping all seven episodes at once on Wednesday, which means you have an entire weekend to sit with it.
I watched Season 1 when it came out, and my honest opinion was — it is not trying to be The Crown. It is trying to be a big, glossy, expensive spy show where things explode, and beautiful people run across rooftops in foreign cities. And on those terms it delivers completely. Season 2 looks sharper. Darker. The trailer suggests they have actually given the characters more to work with emotionally this time, which was the main complaint about Season 1.
For anyone in India — Citadel: Honey Bunny was enormous when it released in 2024. People are invested in this universe. Priyanka Chopra being back in the main series is a genuinely big deal.
Wednesday evening. All seven. Go.
THE BOYS SEASON 5 EPISODE 5 — PRIME VIDEO — MAY 7
For those of us watching weekly, Episode 5 lands Wednesday and the show is two weeks from its finale. Every episode at this point feels like it is tightening a screw. Homelander is more unhinged than he has ever been, Butcher is running out of time, and I genuinely have no idea how they are going to land this ending.
If you have been waiting to binge the whole season — good call, honestly. May 20 is when the last episode drops. Start then and watch all eight in one go.
SPIDER-NOIR — PRIME VIDEO — MAY 8
Nicolas Cage is playing Spider-Man in 1930s New York as a hard-boiled noir detective.
I just want to sit with that sentence for a moment.
Everything about this premise is completely unhinged, and I mean that as the highest compliment. The trailers suggest the show fully commits to the bit — black-and-white aesthetic, classic noir voiceover, vintage New York streets, and a man in a spider suit investigating crimes like it is perfectly normal. Nicolas Cage is one of those actors who is either incredible or completely over the top and somehow both at the same time, and this role seems designed specifically for that energy.
Thursday night. Turn your brain off. Enjoy it.
WHEN THE STARS GOSSIP — NETFLIX — MAY 11
This is the Sunday evening pick for the week. When the Stars Gossip is a Korean romantic drama set entirely on a space station — a Korean astronaut and a space tourist get thrown together in zero gravity and feelings develop. Because of course they do.
Now I know that sounds like a lot. But Korean romance dramas have earned the benefit of the doubt completely at this point. They are consistently the most emotionally well-crafted content on Netflix, and this one has been getting excellent responses from Korean audiences who have already seen it. If Something in the Rain or My Mister or Crash Landing on You ever made you feel things — this is in that world. Drop it on Sunday evening and just let it happen.
DACOIT — ZEE5 — MAY 8
Adivi Sesh and Wamiqa Gabbi. A couple pushed to the absolute edge by circumstances completely outside their control. A story about survival, desperation, and what love looks like when everything falls apart around it.
This one had a quiet but genuinely well-received theatrical run, and people who saw it in cinemas have been saying it is much better than they expected. ZEE5 drops it Thursday, May 8 in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. If you are in the mood for something emotionally intense and grounded, give it a chance.
UNTAMED — NETFLIX — STREAMING NOW
This one slipped under the radar last week, and I do not want that to happen to you. Untamed is a psychological thriller set in the Alaskan wilderness — a woman vanishes into the wild, and the investigation into her disappearance turns into something nobody saw coming. Dark, quiet, beautifully shot, and the kind of slow-burn thriller that gets into your head.
It is already on Netflix right now. Watch it this weekend before the bigger releases take over the conversation.
WHAT SHOULD YOU WATCH FIRST THIS WEEK
Honestly? Citadel Season 2 on Wednesday evening. All seven episodes. If you have never seen Season 1 — it is six episodes on Prime Video right now; you have until Wednesday to catch up; you can do it.
Then Spider-Noir on Thursday night when you want something fun and weird. And When the Stars Gossip on Sunday evening to end the week on something warm.
This is one of the best weeks OTT has had all year. Enjoy every bit of it.
